Meanwhile, there has been a huge uproar in a village in the northern district of Tripura. The mob targeted the temple and mosque on Tuesday. After this communal tension spread between the two communities. The administration suspended mobile internet services and removed the Superintendent of Police. Tension prevails in Pekurchera, a remote village of Panisagar subdivision.

Internet services suspended for 72 hours

Home Secretary P.K. Chakraborty said in an official notification, "SMS and mobile internet services have been suspended for the next 72 hours due to communal tension in some areas of North Tripura district." Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan said in an order that Shiv temple and mosque were attacked by the mob and amid rising tension, Superintendent of Police Bhanupad Chakraborty has been removed with immediate effect and attached to the police headquarters. Assistant Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Anant Das said that Dhalai District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai will take charge of the Northern District till further orders.

There was a clash between two communities over donations

This incident has happened at a time when a few days ago there was a clash between two communities over Durga Puja donations, in which one person was killed and 17 others were injured. The man had died after being shot. There was a clash in Kadamtala over collecting donations for puja. Assam Rifles and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel were deployed in sensitive areas of Kadamtala.
