No relief for Arvind Kejriwal, Rouse Avenue Court extends judicial custody till September 25 in CBI case

New Delhi: CM Arvind Kejriwal does not seem to be getting any relief. In the CBI case, the Rouse Avenue Court has extended Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody till September 25.

Meanwhile, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court granted bail to AAP leader Durgesh Pathak and others on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh. He had appeared on the summons issued by the Rouse Avenue court. CM Arvind Kejriwal and other detained accused appeared through video conferencing from Tihar Jail. Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody has been extended till September 25.

BJP MLAs have written a letter to the President to dismiss the government

Earlier, news had surfaced that Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Monday said that the memorandum submitted by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs to President Draupadi Murmu demanding dismissal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for alleged violation of the Constitution has been sent to the Home Ministry.

Gupta claimed in a statement that the Delhi government’s failure to constitute the Sixth Delhi Finance Commission and taking no action on the CAG report was a violation of the Constitution. A delegation of BJP MLAs met the President on August 30 and submitted a memorandum, urging him to immediately intervene amid the constitutional crisis in Delhi due to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal being in jail.

Sharing a letter received from the President’s Secretariat, Gupta said, “The President has taken cognizance of the memorandum and forwarded it to the Home Secretary.” He said that he has urged the Home Secretary to take immediate and appropriate action on the matter.
