Mainpuri: 116 people have been confirmed dead in a stampede during a satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, while 18 people are injured. The absconding baba was traced late on Tuesday night. According to sources, after the accident, Baba Narayan Saakar Hari alias Bhole Baba has reached his residence in Mainpuri. Baba’s residence is located in Harinagar of Thana Bichhwan area of ​​Mainpuri. Police force has been deployed outside the ashram. A large number of Baba’s devotees are also present in the ashram.

Police conducted a search operation

At the same time, the police conducted a search operation in Ram Kutir Charitable Trust in Mainpuri district in search of ‘Bhole Baba’, who had organized the satsang in Hathras. At the same time, the police said that action will be taken against those who organized the satsang.

The Chief Secretary told the reason for the accident

Meanwhile, the state’s Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Tuesday cited overcrowding as one of the possible reasons for the stampede in Hathras. 116 people have died in this accident. After the stampede after the satsang in Hathras on Tuesday, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh reached the spot along with the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar. Followers were running behind the vehicle of ‘Bhole Baba’ (preacher). It is also said that after his departure, people take the soil from there and worship it. As a result, people started bending and later they fell, causing a stampede.

72 dead bodies have been identified

When asked how many people were allowed to attend the event, he said, "The permission was not given as per the number. However, in the application (for the programme) the number was mentioned as 80,000, but it was much more than that. Giving details of the casualties, he said that out of 116 people, seven are children, one man and the rest are women. Singh said that 72 dead have been identified.
