Entertainment News Desk –Bollywood’s famous singer Shaan i.e. Shantanu Mukherjee is celebrating his birthday today i.e. on 30th September. Born in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, Shantanu Mukherjee belongs to a Bengali family. Shaan has inherited music. His grandfather Jahar Mukherjee was a famous lyricist. His father Manas Mukherjee was a music director. Throughout his career so far, Shaan has won the hearts of music lovers by singing songs in many languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Telugu, Kannada, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi and Malayalam.
Shaan’s sister Sagarika is a singer. Due to the musical environment in the house right from the beginning, Shaan was inclined towards music since childhood. He started singing at the age of just 4 years. Initially Shaan used to sing jingles for advertisements. He started his career in Bollywood at the age of 17. Shaan and his sister Sagarika sang for the first time for a music company. The album that Shaan sang with his sister was a hit. But he started getting a lot of buzz with his album Love-ology. Shaan got his real recognition from his songs ‘Bhool Jaa’ and ‘Tanha Dil’. Both these songs were released in 1999. After this Shaan never looked back.
Shaan has lent his voice to actors like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan and R Madhavan. Shaan has also hosted shows like ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champ’, ‘Star Voice of India’ and ‘Star Voice of India 2’ in his career.
There are not just one but hundreds of songs in Shaan’s voice which touch the heart, like the superhit song ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ from the film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, the song ‘Musu Musu Hansi’ from the film ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’, its Apart from ‘Kuch to hua hai’, ‘Jab se tere naina’ and the song ‘Chand Samayidhe’ from the film ‘Fanaa’ are the most unmatched examples of Shaan’s singing. Shaan made Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics even better with the magic of his voice.
