Ingredients for Makhana Chaat:

1 cup makhana, 1/4 cup peanuts (unsalted and roasted), 1 tablespoon ghee, half teaspoon turmeric powder, half teaspoon red chili powder, half teaspoon chaat masala, half teaspoon cumin powder, salt to taste, handful of curry leaves

How to make Makhana Chaat?

  • Step 1: (Heat ghee in a pan on medium flame. Add makhanas to the pan and fry them till they turn crispy. Once golden, remove the makhanas from the pan and keep aside. Add peanuts to the same pan and fry them till they turn golden brown. Remove the peanuts from the pan and keep aside.)

  • Step 2: Now add half a teaspoon of ghee in the same pan and add cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry for a minute. Reduce the heat and add turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt. Mix well. Now add the roasted makhana and peanuts back to the pan.

  • Step 3: Mix all the ingredients together so that the makhanas and peanuts are well coated with the spices. Sprinkle chaat masala over the mixture and mix once again. Store the leftovers in an airtight container to keep them crisp.
