Green complained of pain after the third match at Chester-le-Street, where he scored 45 and took two wickets in the match. Initial scans have revealed an injury to his back. Cricket Australia has said that the full severity of the injury will be known when the all-rounder returns to Perth.

Australia’s tour of England has been disappointing so far. Green is the fifth player to be injured after Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Riley Meredith and Ben Dwarshuis. Even though the Indian team has to play a Test series in November, but before that, Green’s injury has definitely increased the concern of the team management. He bats excellently. He has so far scored 1377 runs in 28 Test matches for Australia, which includes two centuries. Apart from this, he has also taken 35 wickets.

Indian team at number one in WTC points table

The series to be held in November is very important for both India and Australia teams. The final of the last cycle was held between these two teams, when Australia defeated India. The Indian team is at number one in the points table of WTC 2023-25. The team has so far won 7 out of 10 matches, out of which it has lost two. India’s PCT is 71.67. Australian team is at second place. He has played 12 matches so far, out of which he has won 8 and lost only three. Its PCT is 62.50.
