Encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kupwara, 5 soldiers injured; one terrorist killed

Kupwara: Once again, an encounter has taken place between security forces and terrorists in Trehgam area of ​​the district. Five soldiers are said to be injured in this encounter. The condition of two of them is critical. At the same time, one terrorist has been killed by the soldiers. Officials said that on the morning of Saturday, July 27, an encounter took place with terrorists in the forest areas near the Line of Control (LOC) in Machil sector of Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. One terrorist was killed in this encounter, while five soldiers were injured in the firing. The condition of two of the injured soldiers is said to be critical.

The officials said, "The Indian Army foiled a BAT operation in Kumkadi area of ​​Kupwara sector. 3-4 terrorists including Pakistani SSG tried to enter the LoC for BAT operation. The Indian Army fired at them. In this operation, 1 terrorist was killed, while 5 soldiers were injured. Out of these 5 soldiers, the condition of 2 soldiers is critical.

Terrorist incidents increased recently

Let us tell you that once again there is an increase in terrorist attacks in the Jammu region. Although there was an atmosphere of peace in the area for the last few months, now once again terrorist incidents have increased here. Recently terrorists attacked a pilgrim bus. Nine people were killed in this attack, while 40 were injured. Apart from this, terrorist activities again emerged from the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri in October 2021. At the same time, terrorist incidents have also increased in Reasi, Kathua and Doda. More than 70 people, including more than 50 security personnel (mostly from the army), have been killed in terrorist incidents in the Jammu region since 2021.
