PM Modi gave a big message on International Yoga Day, appealed to make yoga practice a part of lifestyle

Srinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed yoga on International Yoga Day on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. After performing yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the program was slightly delayed due to rain. When yoga becomes a natural part of life, it benefits every moment. PM Modi said that today the number of people doing yoga is constantly increasing all over the world. People’s attraction towards yoga is increasing.

PM congratulates on International Yoga Day

The Prime Minister said that today from the land of Kashmir, I congratulate all the people of the world on International Yoga Day. Ten years ago, I had proposed to celebrate International Yoga Day in the United Nations. India’s proposal was supported by 177 countries, which is a record in itself. In 2015, 35,000 people performed yoga together on Kartavya Path in Delhi.

 

Research on yoga is being done in reputed universities

PM Narendra Modi said that this year in India, a 101-year-old female yoga teacher from France was awarded the Padma Shri. She never came to India but has dedicated her entire life to promoting yoga. Today, research on yoga is being done in prestigious universities and institutions across the world to create awareness about yoga.

People’s attraction towards yoga has increased

While participating in yoga practice at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, the Prime Minister said that the attraction towards yoga that has developed in entire Jammu and Kashmir, the enthusiasm and zeal with which people are eager to connect with yoga, has become an opportunity to give a new impetus to the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir.

People coming to India to learn yoga

PM Modi said that on the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day, I urge everyone to make yoga a part of their daily lives. The Prime Minister said that from Rishikesh and Kashi to Kerala, we can see a new trend of yoga tourism emerging in India. People from all over the world are coming to India to learn authentic yoga. Sectors related to tourism, apparel etc. are flourishing with the huge influx of people. This is creating new employment opportunities for the youth.

Yoga therapy became a subject in Turkmenistan University

PM said that in the year 2015, I inaugurated a yoga center in Turkmenistan. Today yoga activities are flourishing there. Yoga therapy has been included as a subject in the State Medical University of Turkmenistan.
