Pakistan vs Australia: The Australian team defeated Pakistan by 360 runs in the first test match. With this, the Australian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The second test match between the two teams will be played in Melbourne on 26 December. But now due to a special reason ICC has taken action against Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja and has strongly reprimanded him.
Usman Khawaja wore black band
Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has been reprimanded by the ICC for protesting against wearing an armband during the first Test. Opening batsman Usman wore a black armband during the match in Perth. Earlier ICC had banned his shoes. The 36-year-old had originally criticized the ICC for censoring him.
ICC reprimanded
Usman Khawaja had written messages like ‘Freedom is a human right’ and ‘Life is equal for all’ on his shoes. However, citing rules prohibiting the display of personal messages related to politics, religion or ethnicity, the ICC warned him that he would face sanctions if he wore the shoes during the match. Subsequently, during the match, his shoes were covered with message tape but Khawaja wore a black band around his left arm. This move has led to a reprimand from the ICC for the first breach of the rules.
An ICC spokesperson said Usman Khawaja has been charged with breaching Section F of the clothing and equipment rules. Khawaja had earlier released a video defending his right to speak for those who are not given the opportunity to express their views and emphasizing the equality of all lives.
