Megastar Amitabh Bachchan gifts his Rs 50-crore Juhu bungalow ‘Prateeksha’ to daughter

Mumbai: Most prominent Bollywood megastar aka Big B Amitabh Bachchan made a loving and heartfelt gesture to express his love for his daughter Shweta Nanda. According to reports, the actor has gifted his opulent Juhu bungalow, Prateeksha, to her.

The bungalow in the Vitthalnagar Cooperative Housing Society is spread over two plots measuring 674 square metres and 890.47 square metres, which are collectively valued at approximately Rs 50.63 crore. As per the reports, the transfer of ownership to Shweta was formalised via two distinct gift deeds, each corresponding to a specific plot that the bungalow is built on.

As per the documents accessed by sources, the total stamp duty for both the deeds amounted to Rs 50.65 lakh. The total market value for the Bachchan bungalow is listed at over Rs 50.63 crore.

As per the government regulations, the transfer of residential property as a gift in Mumbai requires a nominal stamp duty of Rs 200 with a metro cess of 1 percent per deed.

Amitabh Bachchan and his family lived in Prateeksha for many years during the initial phase of his career. He also owns two more houses in Juhu — Jalsa and Janak. The Bachchan family lives at Juhu’s Jalsa Bungalow. It was gifted to the actor by filmmaker Ramesh Sippy.
