Noida is gearing up to host the Moto GP bike race at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, scheduled to take place from September 22 to 24. In preparation for the event, the initial shipment of MotoGP motorcycles arrived in India on Thursday and was subsequently transported to the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida.
As per the advisory from Noida Traffic Police, a prohibition on all commercial vehicles is in effect for the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway from September 21 to 25.
The event is anticipated to draw more than 150,000 attendees, including over 10,000 foreign delegates. Extensive security measures have already been put in place by the police. They have assigned a workforce of over 3,000 personnel, including 1,000 traffic police officers, to oversee both the crowd and traffic. Additionally, they have established checkpoints at various locations and are conducting routine patrols to ensure security.
However, exceptions will be made for vehicles engaged in essential services, which will be permitted on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Expressway.
During this period, entry into Noida from Delhi, DND flyover, Chilla, and Kalindi Kunj will be restricted for other commercial vehicles. Nevertheless, only DTC buses will be granted entry from New Ashok Nagar and Jhundpura border.
