6 Workers killed after crane collapses at a China bridge construction project
Beijing: In yet another unfortunate incident, six workers killed on Wednesday after a tower crane collapses in Southwest China and more than five injured in the accident, Chinese media reported.
Officials informed that six people have died and more than five have been injured after a crane collapsed during the construction of an expressway bridge on the Tuo River in Xianyang city. The cause of the crane’s fall is under investigation.
The incident happened Wednesday in Jianyang city, the capital of Sichuan province during work to build an expressway bridge over the Tuo River, the city’s transportation bureau said in a short statement posted on its social media account.
According to preliminary investigation, The scene of the accident was part of a massive construction site for a subsidised public housing project. Police probe into the cause of the collapse was underway.
