WATCH: Cricketer Shubman Gill turns Indian Spider-Man, jumps on cars as he introduces Pavitr Prabhakar at Across the Spider-Verse trailer launch
Shubman Gill is not only one of the finest young cricketers from the Indian cricket team, who is representing our country on the world sports stage, but is now also entering the world of entertainment and will soon be the voice of Indian Spider-Man.
While attending the trailer launch of the much-awaited Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in Mumbai, the cricketer took photographs with the many Spider-Men from the many Spider-Verse’s even climbing on top of cars, and having some fun as the photographers took pictures of him.

On Thursday, an event took place in Mumbai wherein the cricketer launched the most-awaited trailer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, introducing the audiences to the world of Pavitr Prabhakar. Our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man goes desi as we will see Pavitr Prabhakar and his town Mumbattan.
Shubman will be the voice of Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar who lives in a Manhattanised verion of Mumbai, called Mumbattan and as per his intro, he loves being a superhero, enjoys having tea with his version of Auntie May, Maya Aunty and schools Spider-Man for calling chai, ‘chai tea’, correcting him saying that only means ‘tea tea’. The trailer has very engaging dialogues and visuals, making it extremely relatable, as we get to see an Indianised version of Spider-Man talk about the things we love and the problems we deal with.
This is the first time a Hollywood film will be released in 10 languages, which are English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali.
Indian fans are also in for a big surprise as Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse is releasing a day prior in India before its US release. Sony Pictures Entertainment India is releasing the film in Indian cinemas on June 1, 2023.
