India reported 42,982 fresh infections in a single day, according to the data provided by the Union Health Ministry. As many as 41,726 people recovered in the 24 hour period pushing the total count to 3,09,74,748 and reflecting a recovery rate of 97.37 per cent. The 24 hour period also saw 533 fresh fatalities pushing the total death count to 4,26,290.
There are currently 4,11,076 active cases in the country which constitute 1.29 per cent of the country’s total caseload. The weekly and daily positivity rate remains below five per cent at 2.37 and 2.58 per cent respectively. The data highlighted further that the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent.
In the fight against the unprecedented pandemic, so far a whopping 48,52,86,570 people have been inoculated under the nationwide vaccination drive. Over 47.84 core tests have been conducted, while over 16 lakh tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
